Post 6

Well this is the final post for this blog. The goal I set for this six to seven weeks have been meet to a degree. Over this past week I have done much to get this goal down to its final point. I have taken notes like no other due to the upcoming exams. I have worked a lot on my writing speed and neatness. I've taken notes on the final exam study guides and rewrote them multiple times to prepare and meet my goals. That wasn't the only thing I have done throughout this week. I have also learned something new; this new piece of knowledge is that soldering a piece of steel to a piece of nickel-silver is a complete pain in the butt. The two materials have two completely different melting points. Not only does the steel have the match the curve of the band of nickel-silver. The surface of the contact points on both pieces of metal have to be spotless. Not one piece of dust at all. Then you need to heat both metals until both are a dull red, then you need to put the solder down one the two pieces of metal where a bond can form. Next you need to wait ten minutes for the entire piece to cool down to a point before putting it in water for the chance of it condensing to rapidly which makes the piece falls apart. If none of this is done then, your project falls.
Last but not least. I have a set of new goals for the next school year. My first goal is to actually study for the majority of my classes. I have been doing well but, I lack studying skills and need to work on that so I thought that should be one of my goals. Secondly it to read faster, I just need to read faster. Lastly is the goal is to keep my stuff organized. Things got messy this year and next year that needs to change. That is all for this Post and a final goodbye to everyone.

Post 5

This is blog number five (If I got my numbers right)! Over the week I have just endured, I have new feelings of self-accomplishment. My goals over this previous week have been met to a degree. I say degree because, there is always a type of improvement. Getting to my goal this week I took time and a number of different steps to make sure I can write faster and neater to be used in many different situations. The first step I took was to read a lot over the past week, by reading I can read the information quicker and process it, also this helps with forming better structured notes in my opinion. Secondly I have written many different notes over this week for the upcoming finals in my classes. That of course is self-explanatory one why I wrote down those notes. After all, I don’t want to fail any of my classes this close to the end of the year.
Going onto the other point of this blog, I found new knowledge for my future benefit. Something I have learned throughout this week is how to problem solve at a higher degree. This may seem like something that has no importance to some people who don’t see the benefit of problem solving. With this skill I can solve problems by thinking rationally with what I do know. By doing this I can help others with things I know little about, or perhaps help me pass a test or quiz by thinking of ways to get around something I have forgot. By this new level of rational thinking, my life can become a lot easier to deal with the problems that lie ahead.
In conclusion that is all that happened this week, off to another week of studying for those finals.

Post 4

Well time for another penny for my thoughts (meaning it’s time to pay up). Over the course of this week I learned many new things that I can use in my everyday life… maybe. One thing that I have learned was that to get the measurement of humidity in the air you have to a psychrometer.  A psychrometer is an instrument of science that has a wet bulb and a dry bulb to measure temperature of the air and to find the temperature of the dew point. When you find the dew point you subtract the difference between the temperature and the dew point to find, well the difference and then use the difference to find the relative humidity. That is the ratio of humidity in the air. I learned this in my local school while in geoscience class. That was only one thing I learned over the week however.

My goal has been going along greatly. The longer I spend time at home, the more I begin to write down information and being able to read it clearly. I’m beginning to write at a faster rate while writing neater as well. This week was very successful in my goal to achieve my goal. Overall I still probably need more work on my goals.

I think that’s enough for one blog, next week might be the last of my blogs. Bye!

Post 3

It's been about two weeks now and I'm back to this blog to tell you about the past events this week. During my educational journey throughout this week I have learned something new in each corner of this dark alley called the week of 5/11/14. One of the few things I have learned in the endless research for the “Xanadu” I call knowledge (Xanadu was a play from our school, Xanadu is the greatest gift from legend that takes no known form), is that to be able to bend certain metals you have to heat them up until they're a dull red and then dip them into an acid to soften up the metal for the ability to manipulate the form into the form of your own choosing. I experienced this first hand in my 3D art class I take in my local public high school. In this art class we learn how to make 3D pieces of art, while learned ways to make one form into a form that one could call art. At the moment however, we're taking metals and forming them into jewelry that we can wear. It was during this progress where I learned how this processed worked to be able to bend my piece of Nickel Sliver into the shape or curve of my wrist for the bracelet I am making. The project is still being worked on though hopefully be done soon.

This was used in my art project to add the design I wanted by cutting the chain and soldering it onto the piece of nickel silver, other pieces were grinned in half to make that side of the chain flat. Putting them together on the band of metal will create a linked chain design. I got this at Home Depot, but you can get this at any store that sells hardware and home improvements. Well on my goal I've been slacking a bit due to track but, I have been writing faster and neater for my notes by practicing my writing at home. That's it for this post, maybe next week I'll get better at this.

Post 2

Finally the school blogging day has come. Over this previous week I have learned a lot of new things, I even worked on my classroom goals that I must post for my own reasons. First of all, I absolutely must reflect my goal for the classroom. The thing that I posted last week was part of my classroom goal. That goal was to be able to write things down in better detail. Over this week I have been working on that and I can proudly say that I have done little to nothing on that due to the makeup work I must do for missing an entire week of school for the FIRST Worlds Robotics Competition (FRC). So this following week I will be working on that goal to bring about great news, probably not though.

One thing I did learn over my week of existence I can say I have learned more in depth on electric cars. Did you know that on average, between a gas powered car and an electric the gas powered one uses $0.28 on gas when electric uses $0.02 in just one mile for both. I find that a good fact to know for buying a car in the future, even though I already have one. This might be good for anyone however, for more detail go to the link I will leave at the end of the page. That's all I got for this week maybe next time there will be more?

Post 1

During my time going for the goals I've set up for myself, I'm doing well with the progress. While at the Robotics competition, for one of my jobs there I scouted other robots/teams to see who we should team up with for an alliance. Writing the information of each bot was fast and had to be neat to read. This helped with my writing skills of neatness and how fast I can write. Those small things you do like scouting can come to help you later on in class and your future career, and that is why I guess we do these small things.
I do wonder about a few things however while in St. Louis. One thing is what do the other countries do for the teams that qualify for worlds like we did. Another thing was that I wonder how many different ideas for the same problem a.k.a. the various bots there were that I didn't get to see. After seeing how the competition was arranged ahead of time, how were the fields set up, and how did FIRST manage to rent out the entire football stadium.
One thing that I learned through my experience was a hydrogen cell. With this "cell" you can take water and split it back to hydrogen and oxygen or the opposite. When this happens it turns the energy released from the combining of the atoms and then creates an electrical current that powers a mechanical component. The "cell" can also be modified to work for gasoline and methane for greater effects. with the gasoline "cell" you can drive four times as far with a tank of gas. The "cell" is also clean for the environment causing no pollution at all. It's just amazing. That's all that really happened over the week making this the end.
